The things that are the most important to me is God, my husband, my family and friends, and being healthy and strong. Running brings me pure joy, although some days it brings me more joy than other days.

Day 19 of Gratitude - Today I am grateful for clothing. I know, I know, it’s not something we may not think to be grateful for, but I am! I’m grateful for clothes that keep me warm, clothes that makes me feel like a hundred bucks, clothes that keep me cool, clothes that are practical, clothes that are affordable, oh and I have to include shoes! I love me some shoes, although I really don’t have that many. Maybe I need more. Yep, I’m pretty sure I need more, but my husband may not agree. ;)
Day 17 & 18 of Gratitude - My mind has been very preoccupied, so I completely forgot to post yesterday! I will make up for it by posting two things I’m grateful for today.
Today, I am grateful for the opportunity to go to church. I feel like I really need it. I need to be uplifted.
I am also grateful for laughter. It’s true what they say, it’s the BEST medicine! I love laughing so hard you cry…and maybe even snort! ;)
Day 16 of Gratitude - Today I am grateful for random acts of kindness. I am grateful for the kind words that have been spoken to me through out my life. I am grateful for the kind actions that have been done for me through out my life. These often simple acts of kindness have affected me in the best ways possible. I’m sure people have no idea the impact that simple acts of kindness can have, but they can have a huge impact and for these acts I am extremely grateful for.
Day 14 of Gratitude - Today I am grateful for sunshine! It’s amazing how the sun being out can kick your booty in gear. It’s just motivating. Even if it’s cold outside, the sun being out makes all the difference.
Day 13 of Gratitude - Today I am grateful for books and the creative minds that can write them. I just love being so intertwined into a story I can’t put the book down. I also love how books can make you feel. Sometimes you really relate with a character and sometimes you don’t, yet you feel such a connection. I love these moments.
The last book I read last was Saving Cee Cee Honeycutt. I LOVED this book! It was such a sweet, uplifting story. One of those where you laugh and you cry. The book is about a Cecelia (Cee Cee) Honeycutt and although she is only 12, the things she experienced in her young life made her a very smart, strong girl. Although our experiences weren’t exactly the same, I felt like I really related to this character. If you want just a sweet, feel good book, I HIGHLY recommend this one.
The current book I’m reading is The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. I’m not even half way through, but I’m loving it.
One thing about me, I like any variety of books. I like the feel good, the sad, the scary, the thinkers, etc. If you have any suggestions, I would love to hear them!

Day 12 of Gratitude - Oh no, I almost forgot to post today! I had kind of a rough day today and forgot about gratitude until we had a nice Family Home Evening with friends tonight. For those of you that don’t know what Family Home Evening is, it is a night that Latter-day Saints (Mormons) set aside for family time. Typically, Family Home Evening is on a Monday night, but some families hold it a different night, depending on their schedules and what works best for them. Family Home Evening usually consists of an Opening Song (hymn), prayer, a short lesson, snacks, and some kind of activity. It’s also a time where families can discuss their week and what they have coming up.
So, thanks to the suggestion of our friends, we decided to have a group family home evening, since the group of us don’t have children. It can be kind of funny to have Family Home Evening with just you and your significant other. So, the plan is to rotate who’s in charge each week.
Anyway, my whole point of bringing this up was our lesson was on Gratitude. After having a rough day, I guess I wasn’t feeling very grateful. So, this may seem silly, but today I am grateful for the reminder to be grateful. I do truly believe good can come from every situation and I always try to remember one of my favorite quotes from on LDS Conference talk by Joseph B. Wirthlin, “Come what may and LOVE it.”
